unfortunately my German is not well enough to describe my problem.

I hope that you will excuse that for this time.

Here is my issue;
in my former flat i had the following setup;

TAE -> Arcor Starter box ->DSL cable to Cisco 876 (which functioned as my WAN modem, WLAN modem, LAN switch w/ Vlans and VPN backend server)
Arcor Starter Box F-> Analog Phone
Arcor Starter Box N -> Fax

back then i've really had hard time to get all VCI and PPoE settings for Germany & Arcor from the help-line, tho finally business line helped me out.
so making it short; above setup functioned without ANY problem for 3 years.


Now, bad news, i had to move and Arcor decided to become Vodafone, fair enough, i told Arcor that i am moving and since ARcor has been so nice for years, i wanted to stay with them, they've told me that the place i am moving to is not an arcor territory (dont know what that means) but a connection is possible, and wanted to send me an EASYBOX 802.
not knowing what new functions it had, i said OK.
now here i am with these problems....

i have configured the EASYbox to write this thread, means my i-net is working OK. (not using the MIC)
Phones are dead...ONCE i solve my CISCO issue i will get back to the Phone problem.


My main question;

cant i just throw "the home-user-friendly-click-click-done" easybox away and hook up my Starter Box as i had in my previous flat?

cant i just connect my Analog phone and the fax to the same starterbox F & N ports?

is there a reason for ARcor/Vfone to insist sending me an eASYbox otehr then money making?

what does "not arcor" territory mean?
although i have komfort-plus anschluss w/ 16mbit my connection is not getting over 3-4Mbit/s, is this also a related known bug that arcor has on these non territorial areas?


Since Arcor has extened my contract for another 24 months and i was with the impression that i could just use my setup (really need this for working reasons) it is a sitting duck situation, if/when i have to use easybox then i cant work --need CISCO, and that is a reason for me to terminate my contract,

what are the options i might have upon a request for an earlier termination of contract?

i really appreciate your patience for reading this thru and understanding about the language part.

ive been reading thru (almost all pages related to easybox here and from what uncle google showed, you guys are my last hope )

Being not "in Vodafone territory" means that you could not get a subscriber line generated in a vodafone facility near your home, as it was before you moved. Vodafone does not provide DSL lines in this area.

Furthermore, it means that you now do not have a "real" ISDN line anymore but a Voice-over-IP-solution, with a by Vodafone re-sold DSL provided by Deutsche Telekom.

This means for you, you have to use the Easybox you got and configure the unit with Voice Over IP access data. The easiest way to do this, is to enter the Modem Installation Code (MIC). The Easybox would obtain the configuration data from the Vodafone configuration server then, and you can use the Easybox with common telephones and network devices.

All that you have to do after this, I think, is to find a way getting your Cisco router working together with the Easybox the way you like. It must not work as WAN modem anymore, since the Easybox is your modem now (and router with DHCP and firewall if the configuration remains untouched) and it has to stay so- because it is your Voice-over-IP-client hardware, and without it you could not make any telephone calls.

obviously i can't work with this solution, as i need to have CISCO to act as a WAN modem for direkt VPN tunneling.

let see what Vfone will react about the termination request.
