Hi!
Does anyone have, or know how to put Annex A firmware in this router?
I tried, but it has some crc32 security check for firmware image which i dont know how to pass.
There is some info on http://sviehb.wordpress.com/2011/09/...e01-unpacking/ but it is beyond my skills.
I put together some firmware image (manualy replaced annex B image with annex A from Easybox 802 firmware), but i dont know how to spoof that crc32 cheksum.

P.S. I have made serial cable and also have UART access to router (and i have full flash dump) so there is no chance of bricking it. Feel free to post your suggestions!

@angrybb how can I enable UART mode ? I erased wholeflash by mistake and seems it is possible to send bootloader via serial/uart mode

You need to shortcut R80 and bring +3.3V on the left side of R65
See on my pictures, i used wires for on/off function, because you wont be able to boot while in uart mode.
If you have and can, you can put two switches for more elegant aproach of turning uart mode off/on. I think it is safer than to solder/desolder all the time.

how did you extract and rebuild the firmware?
Is there any tutorial?

I extracted whole flash(raw data from the flash) with brndumper.

I rebuilded the firmware image with hexeditor, bless in my case, but any hex editor you like will do the job.
SP700EX helped me on some tasks(analyze, split, checksum, extract pfs image, etc.) a lot. Author of this great tool is here among us and said he is planing to support easybox routers in future releases!
You will also need some lzma tool for packing/unpacking.
Of great help also was this blog and thread on openwrt forums.
Some other "tools" i used include: Ubuntu GNU Linux, dd, gcc, python, wine, minicom...

There is no tutorial, but maybe i could write one. Altough it is nothing special about my way of "rebuilding". It is hardly a rebuild, more likely it is "replacement" of one part of the binary, dsl firmware in this case, with another. I used dsl firmware from easybox 802 which had annex A, found here. Before that i was trying to put this one.
So you just find where dsl firmware you want to replace is in one fw, get replacement fw from other fw or allredy extracted, corect crc32 checksums and s_size value, and save. All this is done from hex editor.
I know this is not howto, but maybe it is more clear to you how i done it.

Next step for me is to put openwrt on Easybox 803A. As matter of the fact i did that too (build for eb803 is here) but i could not get dsl to work, wifi either, but didn't even bother with wifi because dsl was primary goal as i use desktop computer and lan, altough wifi would be nice for my hdd player.

Now when job is partialy done for me, i am thinking that maybe i could just replace different bits in dsl firmware, because it is not obfuscated. As it seems, start of the annex A and annex B dsl firmware is identical. Will look into this. I think that i saw some tool is using this method for changing annex A to annex B in fritz! routers, but dont hold me on that, because i am still just a regular noob and text about that was translated with google

Well openwrt/dd-wrt would be a dream, but I depend on phone functionality if the easybox...
But even with the shipped OS it's OK for me, except the limitation of the voip password length.
